Deadliest Catch Sets Records on Discovery Channel with Death Of Captain Phil Harris
Discovery Channel’s hit series “Deadliest Catch” set records last Tuesday when it aired the final moments and death of Captain Phil Harris.
In last weeks episode of “Deadliest Catch” an estimated 8.5 million viewers tuned in for the final episode of the beloved Captain Phil Harris. Discovery Channel said: “It was the highest-rated broadcast for the Discovery Channel in 10 years.”
Aptly titled: “Redemption Day”, the record-setting episode of “Deadliest Catch” was the final installment of a series of tribute episodes for the sea-faring Captain Phil Harris.
Throughout the episode we follow Jake and Josh Harris, as they are bedside with their father, who is fighting for his life. After a series of heartfelt conversations with his two boys, Captain Phil Harris finally said goodbye to the world.
As the credits begin to roll we are left with older son Josh Harris on the phone with his brother, relaying the news: “we lost dad, dude.”
Promptly afterward, we joined narrator Mike Rowe, the Harris boys, and the captains of the “Deadliest Catch” fleet for an “After The Catch” ode to everything Captain Phil Harris.
Captain Phil Harris may not be with us any longer but his legacy will forever make waves around the globe.
Tonight on “Deadliest Catch” the crabbing fleet will learn of the death of Captain Phil Harris.
Be sure to tune in to the Discovery Channel tonight at 9 pm ET/PT.
