Benjamin Millepied Natalie Portman’s Baby Daddy And?
Benjamin Millepied is Natalie Portman’s baby daddy and soon to be husband.
Who is Benjamin Millepied? That is probably one of the most asked questions going around today. In short, he might be one of the luckiest guys in the world. Natalie Portman has long been one of the most eligible women in Hollywood and she has dated her fair share of famous and not so famous guys, but this guy is the guy who actually landed her. Natalie is one of those girls that half the guys in the world have a crush on (me included) and now this guy is living the dream they/we have all harbored.
But who is he? Benjamin Millepied is a 33 year old choreographer who was born in France. He is a principle dancer at the New York City Ballet. Millepied began training in ballet at the age of 8 with his mother who was a former dancer. At the age of 13 he began studying at the Conservatoire National in Lyon, France. At the same time he would spend his summers studying at the School of American Ballet.
In 1995, at the age of 18, he joined the New York City Ballet. He was promoted to the role of soloist in 1998 and then to featured dancer in 2002.
Millepied also works as a choreographer creating dances for several different dance companies including his own, Danses Concertantes. He met Natalie Portman in 2009 when he was hired as the choreographer on her movie Black Swan. As the filming of the movie progressed, Black Swan director Darren Afonofsky actually moved Millepied in front of the camera as Portman’s dance partner. He doesn’t have many lines but said he was blown away by the whole process and was amazed by Natalie and her talent.
He and Portman began dating during the filming of the movie and today the news leaked that they are engaged and she is pregnant with their child. Black Swan is currently in theaters and has garnered rave reviews for everyone involved with it including Portman who was nominated for a Golden Globe and will no doubt be nominated for an Oscar.
So there you have it. If we have learned one thing it is this: if you want to date, marry and knock-up Natalie Portman, as Benjamin Millepied has, you simply have devote your entire life to pursuit of your art, rise to the top of your field and then be hired to work with her in the movie that is likely to land her a Golden Globe and an Oscar award. I guess I never really had much of a short, right?
