Scarlett Johansson, Mariah Carey, Eminem and Lil Wayne for Morning Robot
Here’s the low down on Celebs for this this Sunday morning. Scarlett Johansson, and Ryan Reynolds had a friendly meal. Eminem and Lil Wayne tore it up on Saturday night live. Mariah Carey sang at Christmas in Washington.
I can’t believe how fast the weekend is blowing by. It is already very early Sunday morning and where I live there aren’t even any good football games on until later in day so I can catch a nice little nap. This weekend has been an active one for some people though. Recently separated and soon to be divorcing couple Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds met up for a “friendly meal.” Scarlett Johansson had just returned from a trip with her girlfriends to Jamaica and Ryan Reynolds was on a short break from filming his newest movie in Atlanta. The two met up at the Blue Ribbon restaurant in New York and had a friendly meal. They have always said that they intended to be loving and kind towards each other as they go through the divorce and according to sources that is what this meal was. Reports say they were laughing and kept things light and friendly. The two have been married since 2008 and I would assume they have a pretty thorough pre-nup so there probably aren’t a whole lot of things for them fight about as they split up . . . except for maybe who gets what must be one hell of a collection of hair products.
Meanwhile while Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson dined, Eminem and Lil Wayne tore it up on the Saturday Night Live stage. Tonight was the annual holiday edition of the late night sketch comedy show hosted by Jeff Bridges and the duo teamed up for a couple of great performances. First up they traded verses on Eminem’s sample laden “No Love.” For their second song they each did parts of songs. Eminem led the way knocking out part of “Won’t Back Down.” As he came to an end Lil Wayne took the stage for an electric guitar filled version of his new song 6’7”. He brought his normally laid back style to a new level as he held strong against the wall of sound. It was pretty cool to see two of the best in game share the stage.
While Lil Wayne and Eminem were blowing up the stage in New York Mariah Carey brought her legendary pipes to Washington D.C. for the “Christmas In Washington” special that featured the likes of Glee’s Matthew Morrison, Miranda Cosgrove and Annie Lennox sharing the stage with Mariah Carey and President Obama and the first family enjoying the music in the audience. Mariah serenaded the Obamas with “O Come All Ye Faithful” and “One Child.” Mariah Carey wore a floor length red dress that did its best to conceal her growing baby bump (we found out this week that she is having twins) and was backed by a large choir. It was a classy, classic Christmas moment.
There you have it. That is what went down Saturday night. Here is hoping you have a restful, fun Sunday. Or, if you are like most of my friends, good luck as you try to finish up that last minute Christmas shopping.
