‘Sex and The City 2’ promises to give us a healthy dose of much needed fabulous fashion this week! This Thursday, May 27th 2010, millions of women and their gay friends will hit the theaters to see ‘Sex and The City 2’ which opens nationwide. In addition to the excitement and anticipation of watching the girls again encounter shenanigans and sexcapades, most of us can’t wait to see what the girls will be wearing! It’s all about the fashion! It’s been about the fashion since the beginning of the hit show and throughout the first movie and we should expect nothing less with ‘Sex and The City 2’.

Stylist Patricia Field has been called a genius over the last few weeks in regard to her fashion choices for the movie. Fashion designers have realized the exposure opportunities that ‘Sex and The City’ creates is just too lucrative to pass up, which has given Patricia Field limitless choices.  Wardrobe cost definitely isn’t an issue for ‘Sex and The City 2’ producers either. With an estimated cost of $10 million for the designer wardrobe, the stars were dressed with “borrowed” outfits with designers just happy to get a chance to be featured in the fashionable movie.

The beautiful stars of ‘Sex and The City 2’ are of course Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Catrell, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristen Davis. They have all at one time or another gushed over how grateful they are to wear such high-end fashion and play dress up. Cynthia Nixon said, “There are racks and racks and racks of clothes and jewellery and shoes and sunglasses and hats and scarves, it’s just crazy. I’m not a fashion girl but when you’re in the presence of Patricia Field you’re in the presence of genius and I appreciate genius in all its forms, even though clothes aren’t really my thing. You can usually find me wearing T-shirts and jeans when I’m not working. I sometimes get overwhelmed by some of the more fashion-forward pieces for the movie, although knows she can always ask to have an outfit changed if I’m really uncomfortable. We have fittings for many, many hours so in the fitting if you’re not feeling it you say either, ‘I’m not feeling it,’ or, ‘I love it but I have to maintain some level of reality.'”

Hopefully ‘Sex and The City 2’ will have another through back scene much like the one in the original movie where Carrie did a fashion show in her apartment while Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte judged each outfit. The result of each designer outfit decided it’s fate on if it would “get tossed” or make it to Mr. Big’s new apartment. The website for ‘Sex and The City 2’ has a virtual tour of Carrie’s closet. You can even “step inside” to view and purchase items from the movie.

‘Sex and The City 2’ hits theaters May 27th. Do you have your tickets yet?
