Morning News Recap: Miley Cyrus’ Drug Boom, Glee-ful Gwyneth Paltrow and Taylor Swift’s Dating Life

The weekend is over and everyone is headed back to their dreaded weekly work schedule. As you head into the office this morning I am sure you are eagerly awaiting to read what is going on in the world of celebrities. This morning we have Miley Cyrus and her recent drug boom, Gwyneth Paltrow returning to Glee and Taylor Swift’s dating life with Jake Gyllenhaal. Alright, let’s get this Monday morning started, shall we?

First things first, let us begin with the young Disney star, Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana). Last week we reported on a leaked video of the 18-year-old smoking Salvia out of a bong. While the video of Cyrus sparked outrage, it also produced quite the drug boom. It seems like Salvia sales in California tripled since Miley Cyrus took those infamous bong hits. While I am sure the retailers who sell Salvia are thrilled (it is not illegal in California), activists are already pushing to get the drug banned. Come on now, If Miley Cyrus smokes it; it must be good for you!

Quickly changing the topic from the bong hitting Cyrus, Gwyneth Paltrow is back in the news spotlight. The “Country Strong” actress turned singer claims to be returning to the hit TV show, Glee. Paltrow, who recently performed “Umbrella” by Rihanna and “Forget You” by Cee-Lo Green on Glee, will return for yet another episode. While details on what Gwyneth Paltrow will sing when she returns to Glee Season 2 are still a secret, I am sure it will be another amazing performance.

Lastly on our list of morning news is Taylor Swift and her dating life with Jake Gyllenhaal. What started out as two celebrities enjoying maple syrup lattes in New York has quickly bloomed into a full-fledged romance. Swift and Gyllenhaal were recently spotted out and about in Los Angeles looking like quite the happy couple. Rumors are that Taylor Swift flew out to L.A. to visit Jake Gyllenhaal at his lavish Hollywood home. With their weekend in L.A. the two have now been spotted together in three different states (New York, California and Tennessee) as well as London! (They had dinner together with Gwyneth Paltrow) While it is still early for the newly dating couple, do you think Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal could hear wedding bells ringing in the future?
