miley cyrusThe weekend has finally arrived and that means it is time for our weekly news recap.

Last week there were all sorts of scandalous news, from Miley Cyrus taking a hit from a bong to Lady Gaga beating Taylor Swift on the Billboard artist of the year list. Let’s not forget to mention the Barbara Walters special in which she discussed her top 10 most fascinating people of 2010. In case you missed any of these stories, I will give a quick little rundown, enjoy.

First things first, Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) found herself in the spotlight yet again after a video was released of her smoking out of a bong. Sources claim the young singer/actor was smoking Salvia, which is not illegal. Of course, Cyrus sounded drunk in the video and this whole incident has sparked quite an outrage amongst fans and parents alike. They claim that Miley Cyrus is a role model and should not be on video smoking out of a bong! It is looking like the Miley Cyrus Playboy photo shoot just might happen sooner than expected.

The next big news story that broke last week was the Billboard Artist of the Year list. On this list we found Lady Gaga coming in at #1, beating the country superstar Taylor Swift. While Swift may have sold over 1 million copies of her “Speak Now” album in the first week, Lady Gaga has more of a cult following with her Little Monsters (fans). Personally I can’t stand Lady Gaga and think Taylor Swift should have been #1, not #2.

Last but not least was the highly anticipated Barbara Walters10 Most Fascinating People of 2010” special. Walters, in her 2 hour special first had an hour sit-down with Oprah Winfrey and then for the 2nd hour got into her Most Fascinating People countdown. Starting from #10, here is the fascinating people who made Barbara Walters’ cut for 2010: Betty White, Mark Zuckerberg, Justin Bieber, Jersey Shore cast, Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Lopez, Lebron James, Kate Middleton, Sarah Palin and General David Petraeus. As much as I despise Lady Gaga, I am kind of shocked that she did not make the list. I mean Sarah Palin and Jersey Shore? I think Barbara Walters may have been smoking out of the same bong as Miley Cyrus.

That does it for our weekly news recap; I hope you all enjoyed it and have a great weekend!
