amazing race koreaThe Amazing Race 17 returned last night as the contestants were told to head to Seoul and drive to the border of North Korea.

On last week’s Hong Kong leg of The Amazing Race 17, Nick and Vicki checked in last to the pit stop but were told it was a non-elimination leg of the race. This week, the doctors Nat and Kat will depart first as they head to Seoul.

There are now four teams left on the Amazing Race and 3 of them all get on the same flight to Seoul. Nick and Vicki however miss the flight and must wait for a later departure.

Meet The Teams Of The Amazing Race 17

Once the teams arrive in Seoul, South Korea they must white water raft in the DMZ and head to the border of North Korea. Dawning military vests and helmets, the teams are then escorted by military vehicles to their next clue.

For last night’s Amazing Race road block, teams were to search U.S. troops who were practicing Tae-Kwon Do for a matching headband. Of course, they must search through over 100 troops without getting hit. Once the teams find the matching headband, teams must make their way to the Detour challenge for last night’s episode of The Amazing Race 17. In the challenges “Full Throttle” or “Full Bottle” teams are tasked with two very different road blocks. In full throttle the contestants must make their way to an ice skating rink and complete 24 laps.

Once completed the teams would receive their next clue which would lead them to the pit stop in last night’s episode of The Amazing Race. It would of course also grant them a spot in the final three for the Amazing Race finale. Now let’s take a look at how each of the teams did last night.

  • Jill and Thomas – This dating duo did quite well on last night’s episode of The Amazing Race 17. They blew through the karate headband road block and were the first to finish the Full Throttle detour challenge. However, on the way to the pit stop they got lost and let Brook and Claire take the lead. Phil Keoghan lets them know that Brook and Claire suffered a 30 minute time penalty so they are in fact 1st to arrive.
  • Brook and Claire – Brook and Claire did amazing last night and should have received first place. They made a tiny mistake when they were headed to the detour. Instead of walking or taking the subway, the two lovely ladies took a cab. As they arrived 1st, Phil let them know of their penalty and they sat watching and eventually took 2nd place. Could they be the first all woman team to win The Amazing Race 17?
  • Nat and Kat – The two doctors were the 1st to start last night’s Amazing Race leg. However, somewhere along the line, things went awry. I believe it was at the road block that the doctors lost a lot of time. Despite their struggles in Korea, Nat and Kat took 3rd place and clenched a spot in the finale.
  • Nick and Vicki – With their 6 hour penalty from last week and a speed bump for not being eliminated, it wasn’t looking for these two. Add to that the fact that they missed the 1st flight to Seoul and they were doomed. They eventually made it to Phil Keoghan and were told that they were eliminated.

There you have it, Nat and Kat, Jill and Thomas and Brook and Claire will be battling out next week on the Amazing Race 17 finale which will air at 8|7c on CBS.
