Deadliest Catch Recap: News of Captain Phil Harris’s Stroke Hits Crabbing Fleet
Deadliest Catch Recap, in last night’s episode of ‘Deadliest Catch’, news of Captain Phil Harris having a stroke spreads through the fleet.
We last left the fishermen of ‘Deadliest Catch’ with Captain Phil Harris being rushed to the hospital. The urgency came at the end of last week’s episode when Phil was found curled up in his room onboard his crabbing vessel, The Cornelia Marie.
Last night the episode started with Captain Phil Harris being med-evacuated to Anchorage, Alaska. It seems as if the captain suffered a major stroke. Dazed and confused older son Josh Harris stayed with his father’s ship and crew, while younger son Jake Harris accompanied his father in a race for urgent medical care.
Meanwhile the rest of the ‘Deadliest Catch’ captains are out finishing off their Opi crab season, unaware of the tragic event that just occurred.
The show went on as any episode of ‘Deadliest Catch’ would. It jumped from boat to boat, showing the captains and deckhands in their dangerous search for crab. However, last night amidst all of these fishing you couldn’t help but feel this eerie vibe overtake your body, sometimes leaving chills. We all know what is going to happen with Captain Phil Harris and watching it unfold before my very eyes just had me saddened.
Finally, toward the end of the show last night, Josh Harris calls up the Hillstrand brothers fishing vessel, The Time Bandit. Josh delivered the news to Andy Hillstrand, who was just in shock. Andy went on to call his brother who was on leave, and in turn goes to visit Captain Phil Harris in the hospital. Andy also spread the word of Phil’s stroke to Sig Hansen of the Northwestern. Sig, just as shocked as the rest of the fleet, throws the phone down and is just left speechless.
This episode of ‘Deadliest Catch’ ends with Josh Harris arriving at the hospital in Anchorage, Alaska where his father, Captain Phil Harris is not doing well.
Next week we find Captain Phil Harris in critical condition, which inevitably leads to his death.
Tune in next week as the Tribute To Captain Phil Harris episodes continue on The Discovery Channel Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
