Qatar and Russia Will Host Fifa World Cup Soccer Extravaganza!
It has just been announced that Qatar and Russia will host the World Cup events after Brazil.
Today, FIFA announced that after Brazil hosts the 2014 World Cup, the soccer mega event will be heading to… Russia in 2018 and get ready for this one, QATAR in 2022! It looks like the good ole USA will have to wait a little longer to host the World Cup.
Apparently news of the World Cup hosting announcement has gotten people a little pissed off. I guess that Americans were expecting it to be held in the U.S.A. because we are all die hard soccer fans right? I think the only time 99% of Americans even know that Soccer exists is when the World Cup happens every four years. Anyways, with news of the middle-eastern country of Qatar hosting the 2022 World Cup, people are already irate. Claims are running rampant that oil and gas money bought Qatar the hosting gig. You know, it probably is true but at least Qatar has money they can spend unlike the U.S. who is so ridiculously in debt, the last thing we need to buy is the damn World Cup.
Anyways, I am happy for both Russia and Qatar for having the change to host the 2018/2022 World Cup. It is a worldwide event that will shed a lot of light upon both countries as it goes on. Of course, a lot of soccer fans will have to withstand the grueling heat of summer in the Middle East when the World Cup heads to Qatar in 2022. (avg. temps of around 115 degrees F)
Supposedly Qatar has some crazy cooling system plans for when the World Cup heads there in 2022 to keep both the players and the fans cool as cucumbers. That is a completely different story for when 2022 is a tad bit closer.
So as of right now, here is how the schedule for the next three FIFA World Cup tournaments looks:
- Brazil 2014
- Russia 2018
- Qatar 2022
