Rosa Parks: Outkast Honors Civil Rights Activist with Hit Single [VIDEO]
Today is the 55th anniversary of the day that Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white passenger on an Alabama bus.
Today marks 55 years since Rosa Parks took a stand while riding a public bus in Alabama. Google has dedicated their homepage doodle to Rosa Parks and they are not the only one commemorating her anniversary today. Outkast, the hit Atlanta based hip-hop group has a single out in which they dedicated to Parks.
On December 1, 1955 Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat while aboard a Montgomery, Alabama bus. After Parks was arrested, a public boycott of the Montgomery, Alabama bus line erupted. The bus boycott, which was lead by none other than Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., lasted for 381 days.
That being said, I have found our own way to help commemorate Rosa Parks and her 55th anniversary. I hope that you all enjoy “Rosa Parks” by Outkast. (Music Video Below)
