Michael Douglas Cancer: Actor Tackles Topic of Deadly Battle
Michael Douglas opens up about his ongoing battle with cancer.
It has been over three months since Michael Douglas revealed to the media; he was suffering from stage 4-throat cancer.
When many of us think about stage 4-cancer, we see little hope. The cancer may have already spread and the percentage for survival is low, it can possibly be terminal. This isn’t the case with stage 4-throat cancer (type Michael Douglas has); the survival rate is actually higher.
When Michael Douglas appeared on the Letterman show after the cancer story came out, Douglas stated his cancer was stage IV and thankfully it did not spread. The tumor was located at the base of the tongue. The 66-year old actor was to go through aggressive chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
It has been about 8 weeks of treatment and the last time since Michael Douglas was in the spotlight. We are happy to bring great news that the actor is doing great and is ready, along with his supportive family, to get on with life.
Michael Douglas has recently given his first official interview to ‘The Hollywood’ magazine, in there he states, “To be able to sit here, I’m very happy.”
The Oscar winner was later seen in Orlando, Florida, visiting Walt Disney World and Universal Studios with wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, 41, and kids, Dylan, 10, and Carys, 7.
He looked good and is said to be “feeling strong”. The whole family looked to be having a great time as they toured Harry Potter in Universal.
Michael Douglas will know the results of his 8-week treatment some time in January.
We wish Michael Douglas the very best for a quick recovery and continued great health to overcome this battle!
