Bristol Palin: Abstinence, Igloos and A DWTS Trophy!

There are four dancers left on Dancing With the Stars and things are really getting interesting. This week all the dancers did well, but some did better than others. This week I only have one loser and it is. . . as you might guess. . . Bristol Palin.

To start off with I need to say that Bristol Palin did better this week than she ever has. She had some really good moments and her first dance was actually pretty damn good. She clearly has come a long way, but to me there is still clearly a difference between Bristol and the other dancers.

They showed a behind the scenes piece that showed how she was thrust into the limelight as a pregnant 17 year old when her mom was tapped as the Vice Presidential running mate for John McCain in 2008. Bristol Palin talked about being a teen abstinence advocate and how she is just a regular person when she got on the show.  During her rehearsals she was worried and stressed that she couldn’t pick up the dances and wouldn’t do well. Her first dance was a paso doble. At times she seemed a hair slow, but I have to admit, it was the best dance she has done this season on DWTS. The judges buried her in praise and gave her a 27. For her second dance she did a waltz. It was dramatic and interesting and at times she was very good in it. Carrie thought she was a little detached at times but Len and Bruno thought it was haunting and well done. They gave her a 26 for a total of 53 out of 60.

So Bristol Palin had what were probably her best dances off the season, yet she is four points from the next lowest dancer. She seems to have a lot of support from the audience so I won’t be shocked if she survives this week and one of the top three get voted out, but you never know. DWTS at this point is pretty unpredictable and Bristol has been at or near the bottom of score board all season and it hasn’t stopped her yet.
