The Office Season 7 Recap: Dunder Mifflin Glee Party
The Office returned last night with its eigth episode entitled “Viewing Party.”
Last night The Office Season 7 returned with its Glee inspired Viewing Party episode. The staff of Dunder Mifflin would head to Gabe’s (Zach Woods) luxorious apartment for their very own Glee party. What would a Gleek party be without Michael Scott (Steve Carell) there to screw things up?
Of course, before we get into the Viewing Party, we join the gang at The Office. It seems like there is a police chase going on and the entire staff is watching it live on the news. Cops are in hot pursuit of the Scranton Strangler (local serial killer) and when the chase comes in front of the Dunder Mifflin office, Michael Scott goes ape shit. He goes down to the street, picks up a handful of gravel and places it in a glass jar. (he then explains it will be a great story for his grandkids)
With the police chase out of the way, it is time to head to Gabe’s for the official Glee party. Michael arrives already pissed of because the staff of the office look at Gabe as their boss, instead of him. Pam (Jenna Fischer) and Jim (John Krasinski) have to bring their baby because I am guessing they couldn’t find a sitter.
Andy (Ed Helms) arrives and is overwhelmed that he is in the stronghold of the man who is dating his woman, Erin (Ellie Kemper). At one point Andy eats some powdered seahorses that Gabe had in his mancave and gets extremely sick. On the baby CiCi front, who is crying out of control, Dwight (Rainn Wilson) takes the baby from Pam and gets her to instantly fall asleep. Pam is amazed and will not let Dwight let go of the baby, under any cirumstances. (they have been having trouble with her sleeping at night)
We end last night’s episode of The Office Season 7 on quite weird note. Erin finds out that Michael sabotaged the Glee viewing party by unplugging the cable outside. Erin and Michael then pretend to be father and daughter and Michael scolds Erin… I have no idea what in the hell was going on at this point.
While it was a funny episode of The Office, I could have done without the whole Glee nonsense. I guess the show producers know what’s hot right now and figured a Glee episode was necessary.
The Office will return next Thursday night at 9|8c on NBC.
