DWTS Week 8 Preview and Predictions

dwts 2010Our quick preview of DWTS Week 8 and predictions on who will be voted off.

This week on Dancing With the Stars it seems that once again the writing is on the wall for Bristol Palin and her time up. Stop me if you have heard this before, because I know I have written it before. Bristol seems to somehow find a way to survive week in and week out.  I give her credit where it is due. In the previous two weeks she had danced pretty well and seemed to be improving, but this week she was not that good. At least, that is to say, she was not up to the standard of the top three dancers.  So as we go into tonight’s DWTS results show she should be the one to go home. You can also make the argument that Kurt Warner is in trouble as well. He only scored one point higher than her so logically it would seem it is between Bristol or Kurt as to who goes home tonight.

But then again, we are talking about Dancing With the Stars and logic often doesn’t prevail. We have seen much better dancers already go home so now we really seem to be getting into the area where this is becoming a popularity contest as much as a dancing competition. Something I have noticed is that it seems a lot of people have adopted Bristol Palin as if she were the little engine that could. They like that she has never danced before and that she is a regular person who has never been in front of the camera before. The problem with that logic is that the show is called Dancing With the Stars. While the term star has always been pretty loosely used on the show, Bristol has no connection to the public or the entertainment industry beyond her mom. The show isn’t Dancing With the Daughters of the Stars.

But I digress. We could argue whether she should be on the show or not until we are blue in the face and it won’t matter. What does matter is that tonight on the results show we will get live performances by John Legend and The Roots as well as Taio Cruz and at the end of the night we will be down to just four dancers.

Normally, I would say it is Bristol Palin‘s time to go, but I am done betting against her when there is anyone else near her in points so I predict that tonight we see Kurt Warner voted off. That will leave us with a final four of Brandy, Kyle Massey, Jennifer Grey and Bristol Palin heading into next week.

  1. Wow-since when does any one take a dance show so seriously? So Bristol is still on dwts and Kurt was voted off….that is the way it goes. Bristol is trying her best just like the rest of the group. We have seen it happen on previous seasons and I am sure it will happen again. It is NOT always about the best dancer. I say “good job to Bristol”. I look forward to your next dance. I hope Jennifer wins it but whatever the final vote is….it is only a show for our entertainment and entertainment it is!
