Ryan Seacrest’s Stalker Jailed
Ryan Seacrest’s stalker has been jailed, Chidi Uzomah, 26, has been sentenced to two years in prison and ordered to stay away from the American Idol and E! News host, for 10 years.
Chidi Uzomah pleaded no contest and at his sentencing hearing did not speak. In 2009, Uzomah was stopped by security at the E! Cable network and arrested for violating his probation. Prior to that he pleaded guilty to assault, battery and carrying a knife after attacking one of Seacrest’s bodyguards at an Orange County charity event.
Uzomah was arrested twice for stalking and threatening Seacrest by flaunting a knife. Restraining orders were later filed with Ryan stating: “His aggressive and violent efforts to come into physical contact with me are extremely frightening to me.”
Seacrest’s lawyer, Blair Berk said: “Ryan is extremely appreciative of the work of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office in this matter.”
After Uzomah serves his two years in prison, he must stay 500 yards away from Seacrest and his place of employment for 10 years.
Ryan Seacrest, 35, is best known for hosting, 9 seasons of the hit TV series ‘American Idol’, ‘E! News’ and co-hosting ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’. Seacrest also hosts the radio program, American Top 40, a syndicated weekly countdown show, created and formerly hosted by Casey Kasem.
Seacrest was the executive producer of the E! reality show, Denise Richards: It’s Complicated which premiered on May 26, 2008. Seacrest can also been seen in popular films, playing himself in: “Knocked Up’, ‘Wild Hogs’, ‘Get smart’ and a recent minor role in a 2010 animated film ‘Shrek Forever After’ where Seacrest played ‘Butter Pants’ father. This film was released on May 20, 2010 in Theaters.
