Minka Kelly, best known for roles on TV’s Friday Night Lights and Parenthood, was dubbed Esquire’s annual Sexiest Woman Alive. In the mag’s November issue, Minka shows off her tightly secured assets in the sexy shoot and tells Esquire what it was like growing up, and how she feels about her latest title.

Kelly confesses the revealing photo shoot was a first for her, but seemed to be pleasantly surprised.

“It was really liberating. It was exciting. I would look at the pictures, like, that’s me?”

Minka also calls her twenties a “pain in the ass,” embracing her newly 30-year-old self with confidence. The Friday Night Lights star also dives back a little further in her past, and mentions what could be inferred as a reason for her insecurities early on. The Esquire Q&A reveals Minka Kelly’s early childhood was anything but picturesque, when Kelly admits her mother was an exotic dancer for much of it. I have a pocket full of jokes ready to insert, but Minka Kelly is so hot and poised, I’m gonna refrain.

The Esquire shoot was sexy to the tune of navel and leg, but the popular men’s mag kept it tasteful. And it’s appropriate because it seems everything about Minka Kelly is also tasteful, including the guy she’s shacking up with: the one and only Yankee shortstop, Mr. Derek Jeter.  And can we talk about this guy for a second? Jeter has 5 World Series rings, is currently preparing for his 2nd ALCS in 3 years with the New York Yankees (and should they win, Derek Jeter will have his shot at ring 6 this year), all just in time for his girlfriend to be named Sexiest Woman Alive on the cover of Esquire Magazine. Life’s just not fair, man.
