Kyle Massey: Road To 2010 Dancing With The Stars Glory
Kyle Massey is ready for the road to 2010 Dancing With the Stars glory.
Kyle Massey was a relative unknown to many as Dancing With the Stars Season 11 began but he has quickly become one of the favorites of the live audience and the judges. Massey is a fireball of energy and a real performer. He is the youngest contestant on the show and has the youngest partner and together they really bring the electricity and excitement of youth to the dance floor. Kyle Massey was on the Disney shows That’s So Raven and Cody in the House. He is known among kids, but maybe not their parents who are watching DWTS and that reality may end up costing him.
Week one saw Kyle Massey shot out of a cannon. He and his partner brought the crowd to their feet and shocked the judges. They even admitted that they didn’t know what to expect from him, but it wasn’t that. He scored well, but was one of the last to be saved from elimination. It seems like maybe the viewers at home weren’t giving him some love.
As Week 2 Dancing With The Stars Season 11 came around Kyle turned on his romantic and charming side. His quickstep was good, but the judges said he might be a little too high energy. That aside he still scored well and didn’t seem to be in any kind of danger. Kyle’s potential weakness is his weight and fitness and his partner has him working hard on both. She has him on a diet and working out. During the rehearsals for DWTS Week 3 we got to see some of those workouts. They danced a waltz that looked really good and well put together. Len Goodman told him that his footwork is bad, but otherwise they loved him.
What it boils down to for Kyle Massey and his fate on Dancing With The Stars is two things. First, can he contain his excitement and energy? It seems his excitement gets in the way a little bit and causes him some slips in technique. As the weeks go on those slips will be more and more harshly judged. The second problem could be his connection with the audience. He has plenty of chemistry with his partner (Lacey Schwimmer) and I won’t be surprised to find out that they are this season’s showmance, but it seems like maybe the viewers are still warming to him. He will need them if he is going to go very far.
Tonight at 8|7c on ABC you can watch Kyle Massey perform on Dancing With The Stars Week 4.
