Bristol Palin: 2010 DWTS Nacho-Gate Crisis Averted
Ladies and gentlemen the 2010 DWTS Bristol Palin Nacho-Gate scandal has officially been solved.
The Nacho-Gate saga surrounding Bristol Palin and her Dancing With The Stars partner Mark Ballas has come to an end.
If you need a quick refresher on Nachogate here it is: Bristol Palin and her Dancing With the Stars partner Mark Ballas flew up to Alaska to tape a special segment for the show. The segment included Bristol Palin at her mother’s (Sarah Palin) house, showing where she grew up and the typical family stuff that those types of pieces always show. While still in Alaska Mark got his guitar out and performed at a local pub. It appears Mark Ballas has a budding music career and the crowd was excited to hear him. Bristol accompanied him to the show. The problems started when allegations surfaced that Bristol Palin (who is only 19) was in a bar illegally. If the establishment was just a bar then anyone entering it would have to be at least 21 years old. Bristol, in a move that would have made Matlock proud, used the nacho defense. She claimed that the place severed food and was a restaurant as well as a bar. There were even pictures of her supposedly enjoying said nacho.
It wasn’t the presence of the nacho that may have been the problem. Apparently the law states that a minor can go to an establishment like Rumrunners Old Towne Bar & Grill and eat because they have a Restaurant Designation Permit which allows them to have people under the age of 21 in the bar for the purposes of eating. Some argued that Bristol was not there to eat, but was in fact there to watch Mark play and to promote Dancing With the Stars. The belief was that since she was there for purposes other than eating she was there illegally.
Today the Alaska Alcoholic Beverage Control Board released a statement absolving both Bristol and the bar of any wrongdoing. In the statement the ABC Board said that since Bristol Palin was there on a promotional event and since she was accompanied by her chaperone Ivy Frye there has been no wrong doing.
So Nacho-Gate comes to an end and we as a nation can all sleep a little more soundly.
