The heart condition that cost Kim Zolciak her place on Dancing with the Stars
Reality TV queen Kim Zolciak has opened up about the mini-stroke which led to her withdrawing from Dancing with the Stars.
She revealed a pre-existing condition which was discovered after she suffered a transient ischemic attack (TIA).
Having been hospitalized for three days from September 24, the former star of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Don’t Be Tardy has called the whole experience “a blessing in disguise.”
She says: “The minor TIA revealed I have a PFO, which is like a whole in your heart. It never closed, and it’s something I was born with.”
Zolciak also expressed her horror that some people reckon she faked the mini-stroke to garner sympathy votes on her current reality project, hoofing show Dancing with the Stars. (Although there has been support on social media as well.)
And she describes being on DWTS as “one the best experiences of my life,” adding: “It’s been very difficult not to be on the show.”
But producers felt it would not be fair to let her rejoin having missed a week of training and performances.
Yet that didn’t stop Zolciak from getting fans to sign a petition allowing her to return to DWTS since doctors had said she could dance. However, she couldn’t fly which, ultimately, stopped her.
It’s been reported, though, that she could be takin part in the season finale with dance partner Tony Dovolani. At the same time, heart surgery has been scheduled to correct her long-term health issues.
