Back to reality for winemakers
A reality television show pitting makers of wine against one another as they vie to create their own vintage is set to make a comeback to our screens for a third series.
Cameras are set to roll, despite hold-ups to the airing of season two.
Now PBS is set to show both seasons 2 and 3, with online broadcasting, too, offering additional footage – and you can tune in from early next year.
The dozen participants will come from all walks of life as they compete to devise and sell their own brand of wine.
And while web-based episodes from the second season will focus on Rhone Valleywinemaking, and a final ep to be shot in California has yet to be made, the third season is thought to be being filmed in both Napa and China.
To ‘reflect the global nature’ of the industry, casting calls were placed in China, the UK and Hong Kong.
Scenes for series 3 are to be shot in Beijing, Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Shanghai, and in the States, while producers are also searching for Chinese broadcast partners and sponsors.
A rival V show, called Best Bottle, is also set to be filmed, and will pit winemakers from differing regions against each other. Initially it will include those from Oregon and California, say reports.
