It’s Back! America’s Got Talent Recap
It’s here once more! The judging panel of Brit Mel B, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Howard Stern have joined host Nick Cannon (it’s his seventh outing!) for the opening of Season 10 of NBC’s America’s Got Talent.
And, as in the UK version of the show, the “golden buzzer” addition means judges can now buzz a contestant right through to the live shows, whatever the other judges think – though only one use is allowed.
First up this time round was dancing elementary school pair Elin and Noah. Their hip hop routine to Can’t Touch Me got the duo voted right through. The same fate awaited boy band Triple Three from Arkansas, puppeteer Ira Fennelbloom and hypnotist Chris Jones.
The Germans in gymnastics group Showproject could speak to Heidi Klum in their native language. They then stripped to the waist for their act, which again got voted through.
Also getting the seal of approval were singer Johnny Shelton, “comedic magician” Piff the Magic Dragon, who had Heidi up on stage helping with his card trick, while mixed media dance act Siro-A was colorful, surprising and got a standing ovation and a unanimous “Yes” vote.
There was fun when Nick Cannon and Howard Stern used a lie detector to prove that they really like each other after all, and other fascinating facts, such as Howard’s not liking to see himself naked in the mirror. Who knew?
“Professional cuddler” Samantha Hess was someone else they said “Yes” too – at least three judges did.
Finally, Drew Lynch is an ex-softball player injured out of the game and trying his hand at comedy. He’s through, too.
Did you watch? What did you think? Reckon we’ve seen the winner yet?
