Sharon Osbourne reveals Alzheimer’s fears
Reality show judge and participant extraordinaire Sharon Osbourne has spoken of her fears that she may die of Alzheimer’s Disease.
The star, 62, revealed that she and rocker hubby Ozzy Osbourne took a genome test and learned that she has two of the four genes responsible for developing dementia.
She said: “We had these tests done at a university in England, which took three months to come back. They showed that I have half of the four genes responsible. Not the major genes, but, even so, I still have them.”
The ex-X Factor judge lost her father, 81-year old music mogul Don Arden, with whom she had a notoriously difficult relationship, to the disease in 2007.
Now Sharon, who also had a reality show about her home life, The Osbournes, has admitted her fears that the same thing could happen to her.
She told a British newspaper: “There is nothing I can do to prevent it. It is the most soul-destroying disease.
But, thankfully so far, nothing worse has happened than the loss of a front tooth which fell out during a live recording of her chat show The Talk.
