New Kids on the Block Rock This Boat in New Reality TV Show
They may no longer be new, and they’re certainly not kids anymore, but it seems that The New Kids on the Block have an enduring appeal.
Tour dates for the summer are set to be announced soon, but if you love this late 80s/early 90s Boston boy band so much you can’t wait until then. Fear not! The five-piece’s new reality series, Rock this Boat: New Kids on the Block launches today at 8pm on the Pop network.
Previously the TV Guide Network, the station rebrands this week as a home for those in their late 30s and early 40s with a focus on celebrity.
Donnie, Joey, Danny, Jonathan and Jordan have stressed that their show is about the fans, rather than themselves. The adventures of a number of NKOTB devotees will be followed as they embark on the object of their affections’ yearly cruise of the Caribbean.
NKOTB will be seen being part of one couple’s wedding, as Dannyelle Zywan and Norm Charest tie the knot on board.
Donnie Wahlberg says: “I’ve been selling the show for years. I’ve had other offers, but there was always something that wasn’t quite right – until now!”
For his part, Joey McIntyre added: “We’ve done the cruise enough times to know how it’s done, and we’re not going to work with anyone who isn’t going to be honest, real and open.”
