Chad Ochocinco: Sexual Cereal Debacle

chad ochocincoCincinnati Bengals’ Chad Ochocinco has quite the debacle on his hands with his cereal and a phone sex line.

It seems that everywhere Chad Ochocino goes trouble with numbers follows him. Last year he wanted to change the name on his Cincinnati Bengals jersey from his last name, Johnson, to Ochocino, the Spanish word for his jersey number 85. The NFL told him he could only have his legal name on the jersey so he legally changed his name to Chad Ochocinco. Now he is having troubles with an entirely different set of numbers.

A few months ago Chad Ochocinco teamed up with PLB Sports to create a cereal called Ochocinco’s. The cereal is shaped like the O’s from his name and the box shows him holding up a couple of pieces of the cereal in his uniform and is decorated in the orange and black of the Cincinnati Bengals. Chad Ochocinco started selling the cereal as a way to help the charity Feed The Children by using the proceeds from the sales to raise money as well as putting a number on the box where customers could call and find out more about the charity. It is with that number that the trouble arises.

It seems that the printer accidentally misprinted the prefix of the phone number on the box. When you call, instead of being taken to Feed The Children, you are taken to a phone sex line where a very seductive sounding woman invites you to live out all your fantasies. Kroger Co. the Cincinnati-based store chain that carries the cereal is pulling the boxes from the shelves. Chad Ochocinco took to his Twitter to issue a statement that read: “Awe man I’m bummed about the cereal number mix up on the cereal, trying to do good and got messed up, of all numbers why that one!!! Sorry.” A follow-up tweet continued, “For those who were offended by the mix up my deepest apologies but I was only bringing awareness to a charity that I’m a huge part of, SORRY.”

PLB Sports has also issued an apology and has said that all of the boxes will be reissued with the correct number on them. Currently boxes of Ochocino’s with the wrong number on them are going for $25-$40 on Ebay. The owners of the phone sex line have not issued a statement, but if they weren’t before they are probably now big Chad Ochocinco fans. This number brings a whole new meaning to the term hot breakfast.
