Gwen Stefani Speechless as Contestant Ryan Sill Saved on The Voice
She may be known for her scorching performances and great conversation, but even singer Gwen Stefani was left lost for words this week as her contestant Ryan Sill got saved by the public on The Voice, on which she appears as a judge.
And as she celebrated with the college student from Virginia, fellow judges Pharrell Williams and Blake Shelton each lost one of the members of their team.
So while Gwen and Adam Levine now have three protégés each, Williams and Shelton have just two.
Twenty-year-old Ryan had been in the bottom three with Californian Sugar Joans, and Nashville girl Jessie Pitts.
Ryan sung for his survival in the contest with More than Words, from 1980s rock band Extreme. And it was a close run thing, given that it was the second straight week he faced elimination.
Stefani, who opened the evening’s proceedings with a cover of Blondie’s The Tide is High with her team called Ryan ‘incredibly talented’, adding: ‘You get better all the time.’
Next week, the competition continues with the final 10 artists doing battle with each other.
