Not out of the this world: Kendall and Kylie Jenner’s Sci Fi Novel Flops
Sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner should no doubt be applauded for branching away from the reality show circuit.
But it seems that the Keeping up with the Kardashians lynchpins haven’t enjoyed too much success with their latest venture, a dystopian sci-fi novel called Rebels: City of Indra: The Story of Lex and Livia.
Since the volume’s June release, data from the Nielsen BookScan, obtained by Radar Online, found that the book has sold just 13,000 copies.
In contrast, fellow reality TV star Lauren Conrad’s two books had sold nearly half a million copies around a year following publication.
The teens (Kendall is 18, Kylie 17) promoted their book with relentless book signings in LA and New York and discussed it on talk show The Talk.
The novel has also had something of a critical mauling, currently sitting at two out of five stars with 141 Amazon reviews.
It is actually the work of ghostwriter Maya Sloane, though publishers say it came from “the minds” of the two girls.
Whatever. Better luck next time, eh, girls? Or maybe try something different?
