It seems her teammates are not the only ones Apprentice contestant Mahsa is butting heads with and angering. Mahsa, full name Mahsa Saeidi-Azcuy recently resigned from her job as a district attorney for the city of Brooklyn. She had gone on Apprentice against their wishes . . . well, actually without them knowing, which put them in a hard spot when the show started to air.

Mahsa Saeidi-Azcuy started her job as a Brooklyn Assistant D.A. in January of this year. She took a two-month leave of absence to shoot The Apprentice, but didn’t tell her bosses what she was doing. When the show started to air they were less than pleased. “I want to emphasize had we known she was going on The Apprentice we would not have approved it,” Jerry Schmetterer, spokesman for D.A. Charles J. Hyne said. “We didn’t think it was an appropriate program for a D.A. to be on, as it could create some conflicts in her work as a prosecutor.”

Up until Apprentice began to air Mahsa Saeidi-Azcuy had handled misdemeanor prosecutions. However, once the show began to air she was reassigned to the case assessment bureau which his a non-public position out of the “trial-zone” and away from the courtroom. She was moved so that potential jurors who may watch the show wouldn’t recognize her, which could create a conflict of interests. She even admits this was becoming somewhat of a problem. “How can I be in a courtroom now, at least while the show is airing?” she admitted to the New York Law Journal this week.

Mahsa Saeidi-Azcuy was said to have been okay with the transfer and didn’t see it as a demotion but she was unhappy. Her co-workers are reportedly not very happy with her lack of informing her bosses about Apprentice and forcing them to act once it started to air.

Apprentice aside, her bosses are quick to say that they were very happy with her work and she was not forced out. Mahsa Saeidi-Azcuy has been at the center of some heated debates on the show and so far has been able to brush the attacks off. Donald Trump himself seems impressed with her toughness. There is no telling how far she will go in the show and there is no word on what her plans are now that she has left the D. A’s office.
