Khloe Kardashian: War Bonnet is “Insensitive” Says Redhawk Native American Arts Council

Posted by on June 25, 2014 at 5:15 AM EST

The Redhawk Native American Arts Council has blasted the war bonnet Khloe Kardashian was sporting for her niece North West’s birthday party this weekend.

The 29-year-old divorced reality queen and Keeping up with the Kardashians star, who turns 30 on Friday, is wearing a headdress in one or two of the photographs from North’s “Kidchella” celebration which was held on Saturday.

The images went viral, leading the council’s cultural director Cliff Matias to describe the wearing of the headgear as “insensitive”.

He said: “It’s absolutely terrible that they have no conscience to stop doing this sort of thing.”

Matias added that there was “no way” Kim’s little sister would not be aware of the controversy around the Washington Redskins’ trademarks.

“I can’t believe she’d think it was OK to wear that war bonnet at a kids’ party. It creates a whole new generation of insensitive thinking.”

So far there’s been no response or comment from the Kardashian camp. But what do you think – insensitive or not?
