The Office Season 7 Recap: Michael Scott Gets Counseling

the office season 7The Office Season 7 returned last night and Mike Scott began his counseling sessions.

After the triumphant return last week, The Office Season 7 took on its second episode with the Michael Scott (Steve Carell) counseling session last night on NBC.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves though, last nights The Office began with Pam (Jenna Fischer) and Jim (John Krasinski) arriving to Dunder Mifflin late. When questioned about being late by Dwight (Rainn Wilson), Pam and Jim let him know that they were dropping their baby off at daycare. Immediately the light bulb lit up in Dwight Schrute’s crazy head. Dwight makes his own daycare inside The Office and it is full of all the amazing Dwight necessities. From plastic knives and forks for the kids to play with to feeding troughs, the crazy beet farmer of The Office Season 7 has managed to make a daycare of doom!

Meanwhile, due to last week’s public spanking, Michael Scott (Steve Carell) has began his counseling sessions with Toby (Paul Lieberstein). From this point out we will flip to the counseling session as episode 2 of The Office progresses. Michael, who without a doubt hates Toby, is not going along with the whole counseling routine. I believe at one point Michael tells Toby that he was probed by aliens. Finally, towards the end of The Office Episode 2 last night, Toby tricks Michael into playing kids games, which in turn makes him open up to Toby.

For Pam, she is overwhelmed with being a sales representative working on commission. She devises a plot on The Office Season 7 last night that she was demoted to office Administrator before Sabre took over the company. Gabe (Zach Lewis) let’s her know that she needs the signatures of all the heads of the departments and he will look into how the paperwork was lost. After Pam gets all of the signatures, Gabe let’s her know that he is on to her. Using her poker skills she learned from TV, Pam calls Gabe’s bluff and gets her position as Office Administrator.

Last but not least we will deal with Dwight and his protest of the Steamtown Mall. For this part, The Office meets Pretty Woman. Dwight had a confrontation at the mall earlier when a store refused to help him. Of course, being Dwight Schrute, he plans on boycotting the mall. Wanting to get down to the bottom of this, Dwight, Jim and Andy (Ed Helms) all head down to the mall. It comes to find out that the mall workers thought Dwight was covered in blood as he was covered in beet juice. Regardless, he ends up buying his little wizard statue and The Office Season 7 Dwight mall conspiracy is resolved.

While last night’s episode was funny, I kind of feel like The Office is slowly loses its oomph! I am a longtime Office fan and think Steve Carell is a genius. Hopefully for his last season on The Office it gets funnier as it progresses towards the end. Ending in The Office Season 7 finale that will blow everyone’s minds.

The Office Season 7 will return next Thursday night at 9pm on NBC.
