New Reality Show Party Down South Makes CMT Debut
A hard-partying lifestyle made the stars of Jersey Shore famous – but with cast members including Snooki, Pauly D and JWoww all parents now, there’s been a gap in the reality TV market for a show based on partying.
And now a new CMT series, Party Down South, has come along to fill it – following a cast of eight of the “biggest, baddest personalities in the south” as they move into a shared place in South Carolina for “one wild summer” to “work hard and party even harder.”
The show makes its debut on the country music channel on Wednesday this week, and it’s the braind child of Jersey Shore mastermind SallyAnn Salsano.
There are four guys and four gals on the cast, all scouted by producers. One of the girls, for example, Tiffany Heinen, who’s 25, caught the eye of the team as she rode her dirt bike at the Louisiana MudFest.
She says: “I wanted to show that not everyone from Louisiana is like the swamp people, riding alligators for Christmas and stuff like that.”
Other stars of the show include “a loveable redneck teddy bear” a former beauty queen, a straight-talking country girl, and a beefy off-roader – there’s also a “momma’s boy”, and a “southern ladies’ man” who calls himself Daddy.
