Demi Lovato Reveals Depths of Cocaine Addiction
She may only be 21, but singer, songwriter, actor and philanthropist Demi Lovato, the right-hand woman to Simon Cowell on X Factor USA, has already done more living than many twice her age.
This has already been evidenced in her book, Staying Strong 365 Days a Year, the autobiography she released last month.
Now the reality crooning show judge has talked about her personal demons in a frank interview. Talking about her drug problems publicly for the first time, she has admitted that her early years were marked by a dependency on cocaine so strong it meant she could barely last a half hour without it. She was, she says, even sneaking it on to airplanes.
The Heart Attack singer also used the interview to open up about her past eating disorders:
“I went to just completely starving myself and that turned into throwing up and it was just this crazy battle going on inside of me.”
Since then, Demi and her mother both sought help, resulting, they say, in a tighter family bond.
