Contestants on the X Factor USA were forced to repeat their performances last night after the incorrect results were shown on Wednesday evening’s show.

According to a statement released by the popular show, a graphics error meant that the top 13 acts in the hit reality singing contest had to perform their “Save Me” songs once more so America couldvote again, and the results of Thursday’s performance are to be revealed on Fox next Wednesday night.

Brit Simon Cowell, who, along with Demi Lovato, Paulina Rubio and Kelly Rowland is on the judging panel this season, tweeted: “This is live TV – it’s happened before.”

The 54-year-old, who this time round is a mentor to the groups, added: “It’s tough but mistakes happen and I now have 24 hours to prepare my artists – let’s hope they deliver.”

  • This season of X Factor USA has seen its audience figures plummet to an all-time low in the States, with the first episode garnering just 6.2 million viewers.
