This week, Dom Streater has been crowned winner as Project Runway’s 12th season came to an end.

The 24-year-old who took the crown in the fashion design reality TV contest on Lifetime hails from Philadelphia, and was chosen by a panel of judges made up of Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia, Kerry Washington and Zac Posen, alongside mentor Tim Gunn.

Klum said Dom had taken a “huge risk” with her last collection which was, she said : “fresh and playful.”

For her part, a tearful Dom could only gulp: “I think I must still be dreaming. I’ve never experienced anything even remotely close to this feeling ever in my life.”

Unveiled during New York Fashion Week, the collection is called “Retro Redux” and featured bold colors. The designer said she was inspired by “The idea of the future being viewed by artists and writers pre-1960s.”

Dom takes home a package including a 2014 Lotus car, $150,000 from GoBank, $50,000 of HP and Intel tech, a year’s supply of Natural Spring water, a spa trip to the Maldives, a fashion spread in Marie Claire, a fabric allowance, a styling contract with L’Oreal Paris and a complete sewing and crafting studio.
