Death of Former MasterChef Finalist Josh Marks is Suicide
We really wish we weren’t bringing you this news, but, sadly, authorities have confirmed that Josh Marks, a finalist in Season 3 of hit Fox reality show MasterChef, in which he was runner-up to Christine Ha, died in a Chicago alleyway of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The body of the 26-year-old was found by police just before the weekend in the Longwood Manor area of the city, near a gun and lying face up, the Chicago Tribune reported.
The news of the tragedy comes only a few months after the talented cook became embroiled in a confrontation with Chicago cops in which he reportedly claimed to be “possessed” by the show’s judge, Brit Gordon Ramsay, and had been transformed so that he was God. At the time, Marks was arrested and sent to hospital for treatment.
Relatives who were at the scene of his death told police officers he had experienced bipolar disorder as well as schizophrenia.
We couldn’t be sadder to hear this awful news.
