American Idol? Dr Luke’ll be the Judge of That! (Probably)
It’s being reported that hit reality talent show American Idol has officially signed a third judge to join Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban – 39-year-old US record producer and songwriter Lukasz Gottwald – better known as Dr Luke. He has penned numbers for the likes of Katy Perry and Kelly Clarkson.
According to E! News, the “doctor” has sealed the deal to undertake judging duties for the show’s 13th season.
It seems that talks with Dr Luke got underway after negotiations with will.i.am collapsed in a dispute over money. The Black Eyed Peas rapper decided instead to go back to the UK and coach the UK’s version of The Voice for its upcoming third season. (That’s also according to E! News.)
Former Idol finalist Jennifer Hudson has also apparently been involved in discussion with the show’s makers Fox Entertainment.
While J-Lo’s return to the judging panel has yet to be made official her beau Casper Smart let the “secret” slip recently that she will return to the show next season.
At the same time, show veteran Randy Jackson is making an Idol comeback, replacing Jimmy Iovine as in-house mentor.
American Idol” returns to Fox in the winter of 2014. We can’t wait!
