Bachelor’s Gia Allemand Reported Dead at 29
It’s been reported by E! News that season 14 The Bachelor contestant Gia Allemand has passed away in hospital in New Orleans having been admitted Monday night in a critical condition. ABC said earlier this week that the 29-year-old was being cared for at University Hospital, where her admission followed “a serious emergency medical event.”
No other information about her condition or the treatment she was receiving was being made available at this time, although it’s understood she was on a life support machine, and that Allemand had her family with her and long-time boyfriend Ryan Anderson, the NBA star who plays with the New Orleans Pelicans.
ABC has asked for the family’s privacy to be respected.
Season 14 winner Jake Pavelka said on Twitter: “I can’t stop crying. We have lost an angel.” Ali Fedotowsky, who competed with Allemand in the same season, also tweeted in memory of her friend: “You changed so many lives with your beautiful soul and will be missed and loved forever.”
Gia appeared in both Bachelor and Bachelor Pad. What awful news and our thoughts are with her family at this sad time.
