American Idol: Ousted contestant Devin Velez’s Interview Comments Slammed by Nicki Minaj

American Idol judge Nicki Minaj has taken to Twitter to blast recently eliminated participant on the hit reality singing show, and telling him to “just b gracious.”

Velez was kicked off after singing the Perry Como hit It’s Impossible. And Minaj slammed another performance, in which he performed a Four Tops number with two fellow contestants.

In an interview, Velez claims: “She went crazy – she was like ‘Get off the stage’, and it’s just like ‘Whoa, Miss Minaj, calm down, please’.”

Judges have a one-off “save” option, but decided they wouldn’t be using it to keep Velez in the Fox show.

On Twitter, Minaj said the women contestants were too good to use the save on one of the guys taking part.

These include Candice Glover and Kree Harrison. This week, 22-year-old Kree wowed judges with her version of Janis Joplin’s Piece of My Heart, despite a pinched nerve meaning she could barely move her arm.

Fellow injured singer Candice had a broken toe but nonetheless gave a powerhouse rendition of the Stones’ smash hit (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.
