Winner of The Face is Announced
We’ve loved it since it premiered last month, online and then on TV on Oxygen. Now hit reality modelling show The Face has announced its first ever winner!
Expect to see a lot more of 21-year-old single mom Devyn Abdullah, from the Bronx, New York – who beat 11 other modelling hopefuls, all split into three teams. Each group had a different supermodel coach – Karolina Kurková was the winning one but the two others were Brit Naomi Campbell and Coco Rocha.
Over eight episodes, the girls, who came from across America, battled it out in a variety of fashion-related challenges to prove they should be chosen as the new face of Ultra Cosmetics.
So Devyn will now front the brand’s fall and holiday 2013 ad campaign, and no doubt enjoy a bunch of other wonderful opportunities to come.
After winning, Devyn gushed: “This is my break, it’s me getting my foot in the door of the modelling industry and I’m really excited. I was working four jobs before I did this show. Through all the challenges and tests, Karolina has given me the comfort to continue. She is like my home base.”
For her part, Karolina said of her new protégée: “Devyn stands out from the crowd, from my first impression I could see that.”
There were also two runners up – Luo Zilin, 25, from Shanghai, China, who was in Team Naomi, and Team Coco’s Margaux Brooke Snell, a 21-year-old from Roswell, Georgia.
