Sandy Hook: Tribute on X Factor “Hardest Thing” – Simon Cowell

As part of this week’s X Factor, finalists in the reality singing show and others who had recently left this season came together and sang a particularly sincere rendition of You Are Not Alone in tribute to those who died in the Sandy Hook shootings.

Even Brit judge Simon Cowell, not exactly known for his softer side, admitted that having to introduce such a sad occasion was one of toughest things he’s ever had to do emotionally on TV.

He said in an interview after the show aired: “I would say it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do on TV in my life. We decided we were going to introduce it in the way we did, and then what it’s all about really hits you.

“I think it was harder for the singers, and it’s a miracle they did it. Of course, it really affected them.  But it was the right thing to do.”

And everyone who saw the performance was affected too, agreeing it was a beautiful tribute.
