Laura James is Next Top Model College Edition Queen
Laura James was crowned Next Top Model: College Edition winner as the 19th season final aired on Friday night.
Laura, 21, from Cambridge, New York, who attends Paul Smith’s College, had her coronation as runway queen after getting the biggest overall scoring when she and two others, Leila Goldkuhl and Kiara Belen. They were assessed on all the work they had completed since the season’s first week.
Calculations were made using the average of the judges’ scores – agreed upon in the finale as Kelly Cutrone, Rob Evans and Tyra Banks chose a number from one to 10 that each felt best described each contestant’ s body of work. The average fan vote received during the season was also considered.
Laura’s prize includes a feature in Nylon magazine, a contract with L A Models and New York Model Management, and she is also the winner of $1,000 in cash, becomes the face of the show’s own scent Dream Come True (the sweet smell of success!) and also has a couple other campaigns in the (designer) bag.
Las Vegas student Kiara, 22, who studies at the University of California, took second place, Leila, 20, also a student was placed third.
