Jason Brock Says Being Gay Cost him X Factor Votes

Jason Brock was booted off The X Factor, failing to make the second-season top 12 final acts last week as the hit Fox reality singing show staged its first live results program.

Co-hosts Mario Lopez and Khloe Kardashian revealed that Brock was one of the bottom two acts based on viewer votes made right after the Top 13 performance show.

Things went to deadlock after judges Demi Lovato, Britney Spears, Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid, failed to reach agreement on whether Jason or fellow lowest-voted contestant Cece Frey should go home.

This meant that the 35-year-old from San Francisco was automatically ousted thanks to his having attracted the lowest number of votes.

He said afterwards: “I think that the gay thing could have had some impact on the voting. There’s a good portion of America that still thinks being gay is wrong. Also I don’t think that Simon took me seriously. But I don’t regret at all being me!”
