Christine Ha Crowned MasterChef in Third Season Finale

The winner of the third season of MasterChef, Fox’s TV reality culinary contest for aspiring chefs, has been named as Christine Ho. She beat Josh Marks, a 24-year-old Army contract specialist, to take the title.

The win is all the more inspiring given that she is the show’s first ever blind contestant.

“I just can’t believe it – this has been the most amazing experience,” said Christine, a 32-year-old graduate student from Texas. “There were so many obstacles and I was up against some amazing cooks. But I’m proof that dreams can come true, against the odds.”

Both finalists were charged with preparing a three-course meal in just two hours – with notoriously rude Brit judge Gordon Ramsay on the panel and the cameras rolling, it was real pressure cooker environment!

For his part, Josh said: “Christine is a tough competitor and I respect her. I’m proud to have competed against her.”

As well as the title, Christine takes home $250,000, and a deal for her own cookbook. She wowed judges with Vietnamese comfort food including Thai-inspired papaya salad with grits and sweet potato puree, braised pork belly with rice and coconut-lime sorbet.
