Alanis Morisette to Join American Idol Judging Panel?
Just about every celeb you can think of seems to have been named as a prospective member of the American Idol judging panel over the last few weeks. The roll of honor (If it can be called that) has extended to everyone from Katy Perry to Pink, Kimberly Locke and Brad Paisley – even Charlie Sheen, gosh darn it!
Now it’s Alanis Morisette’s turn to find herself at the center of speculation that she will be joining Randy Jackson and Mariah Carey. After all, having previously performed on Idol and acted as a mentor on The Voice, the 38-year-old singer-songwriter, actress and Golden Globe and Oscar nominee is no stranger to the world of reality TV.
And Morisette has confirmed on a radio interview recently that she has been in talks about joining the panel.
She would certainly make an intriguing addition to the team, given that she and Mariah Carey were, between them, responsible for some of the 1990s’ biggest musical hits. Both have amazing voices, and, when it comes to showbiz, both ladies know what they are talking about.
The real test would be whether they could pull in fresh viewers for this show, which has languished with low ratings lately. So producers need to find someone who can help revive flagging public interest. Reckon Alanis Morisette could be the one to do it?
