Amber and Brandon Dropped from So You Think You Can Dance Season 9
Amber Jackson and Brandon Mitchell have been eliminated from So You Think You Can Dance in a move which decided the top 14 participants for the ninth season, during a live broadcast on Fox.
Judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy, alongside guest judge Christina Applegate, removed Amber, 21, a contemporary dancer from Atlanta, and Brandon, 27, a stepping dance from Kansas City. The pair found themselves among the bottom six dancers of the week based on viewer votes cast after the previous week’s episode.
The judges had to remove one woman and one man from the show, based on their performances from the previous week as well as their dances on the night.
Four of the dancers – Amber, Brandon, Eliana, and Dareian – complete a solo routine having been urged to “dance for their lives”, to decide which contestants should stay on the show, and who should be sent home.
After watching the four ” performers and evaluating other criteria , including choreographers’ comments on their talent, progress and potential, it was Amber and Brandon who had to leave the show.
The couple had been paired together after both losing their original partners the week before..
