Dancing With The Stars: Week 2 Results Say Farewell To Michael Bolton
Dancing With The Stars Week 2 has come and gone and the results are in, Farewell Michael Bolton.
When we last saw Michael Bolton on Dancing With the Stars he was being told by Bruno Tonioli that he had done one of the worst Jive dances in the eleven-season history of Dancing With the Stars. He was so brutal the other judges came to Michael Bolton’s defense and when Bruno proceeded to give Bolton a 3 during the scoring phase the crowd booed and even hosts Brooke Burke and Tom Bergeron seemed shocked. Tom Bergeron even said: “They actually have a 3?”
As last nights DWTS results show started the debate over the Michael Bolton score raged on. Carrie Ann Inaba and Len Goodman said they thought Bruno Tonioli was out of line. They thought their position was to inform and teach, not to be mean to the contestants. Bruno Tonioli stood by his words. Michael Bolton finally spoke. It was clear he was angry the night before. Carrie Ann Inaba had pointed out perfectly that this guy has sold a lot of records and still does very well on the road. He doesn’t need to do this and didn’t come on Dancing With The Stars Season 11 to be humiliated. Michael Bolton was clearly still upset, but he was gracious. Michael Bolton said: “Last night, Bruno was inappropriate and disrespectful. Other than that, it was a phenomenal experience.”
As week 2 of Dancing With The Stars 2010 moved on we got a performance by Seal then an interesting high flying dance routine that featured contortionists, aerialists and a ballerina. The judges chose Kyle Massey and his partner Lacey Schwimmer as the encore performer and they may have done an even better job than they did the night before.
One by one the dancers were saved. Brooke Burke and Tom Bergeron talked to the various dancers behind the scenes and Mike Sorrentino a.k.a. The Situation seemed to realize he is in jeopardy if he doesn’t improve quickly on DWTS. He assured audiences that he is working his butt off and is taking this very seriously. He was spared this week, but if he doesn’t show marked improvement next week he may be going home. With each round the judge’s get harder and harder on the dancers, Mike Sorrentino needs to step it up.
At last the inevitable cat was let out of the bag and Michael Bolton was voted off. He seemed almost happy, but said that he wanted to go further for his partner, Chelsie Hightower.
On an interesting side note, he was scheduled to be on Jimmy Kimmel live last night. All the dancers go on his show the night they get voted off, but Michael Bolton didn’t show up. I have a feeling he was simply done talking about how badly he had danced on Dancing With The Stars and just wanted the whole thing to be over with.
Once again, last night on Dancing With The Stars Week 2 America voted off Michael Bolton.
Catch week 3 of Dancing With The Stars Season 11 when it airs next Monday night at 8|7c on ABC.
