dwts week 2 michael boltonPrepare for Dancing With the Stars Week 2 with this cast review of Michael Bolton.

Michael Bolton is an interesting case study when it comes to Dancing With the Stars. It seems that he wants to do well, that he wants to use DWTS as a way to remind the world that he is still out there, still singing and still relevant. The problem is that Michael Bolton doesn’t seem to be that committed to it. During his behind the scenes footage section of the show on the Dancing With The Stars Season 11 premier, Michael Bolton said he still has somewhere in the area of 150 live shows to do during the rest of this year. That is a ton of performing when you add in that he also will be doing five or more days a week of rehearsals for the 2010 Dancing With The Stars competition. The question is: How long can he keep it up?

During his first performance Michael Bolton was a little stiff and he was scolded by the judges for letting his partner, Chelsie Hightower lead him. He scored a 16 and found himself in the bottom four. Being that David Hasselhoff was voted off, Michael Bolton was saved from elimination, but the message was sent, he would have to improve if he wanted to stay around much longer.

If Michael Bolton were truly committed to Dancing With The Stars you would think he would reschedule some of his live shows until season 11 was over. Instead he has Chelsie Hightower fly to wherever he is and practice with him on the road then they fly back for the shows. Just the travel time alone takes away from the practice time. I think Bolton might make it past this week, but I think eventually it will be too much and he will wear down and that will be his demise.

Watch Michael Bolton and Chelsie Hightower on Dancing With The Stars Season 11 Week 2 tonight at 8|7c on ABC.
