No More Ghost Whisperer and Jennifer Love Hewitt on CBS
CBS says no more Ghost Whisperer and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
CBS has canceled the long running Jennifer Love Hewitt show Ghost Whisperer. After five years with moderate to good ratings CBS saw the ratings for Ghost Whisperer falling dramatically recently and finally decided to pull the plug.
This move is not really much of a surprise to many. There have been rumors of the show’s demise for some time. The last few seasons seemed to always end with the question of if the show would return in the fall. Rumors began surfacing back in May when the network failed to put the show on the new fall scheduled, but only recently was the decision announced as final and Ghost Whisperer was officially canceled.
While Ghost Whisperer may be over it looks like Jennifer Love Hewitt will not be out of work very long. Fox is developing a sitcom for her called Deadline. Wild Hogs director Walt Becker and Nancy Drew writer Tiffany Paulsen are behind the project. Details on what Deadline will be about are sketchy at best but rumors have it that it will be along the lines of a female Big Bang Theory.
Jennifer Love Hewitt has been a mainstay on network television since 1989 when she first joined the cast of Kids Incorporated. She had roles in pilots, specials and mini series until 1995 when she joined the cast of the Fox show Party of Five. Party of Five made her a star and she has been acting non-stop since. She has also released six music albums with mixed success. Her biggest selling record BareNaked came in 2002. It peaked at number 37 on the Billboard 200. She has also written a book called The Day I Shot Cupid which details her experiences in love and dating.
