american idol top 2 liveLive coverage tonight’s American Idol final two performance and my own personal ratings.

American Idol comes at us live tonight as the final two sin their hearts out in from of millions of fans. Three songs will be performed and tomorrow night the winner will be decided. Who do you all predict will walk away as the season 10 American Idol?

In case you can’t watch American Idol tonight on live TV, I will be covering the performances as they happen in real time so make sure you keep refreshing this page. Will Scotty McCreery wow the crowd with his deep voice or will the 16-year-old Lauren Alaina win with her southern twang? On top of letting you know what songs the final two perform, I will be rating each performance on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best). Who do you want to win? What songs will George Strait and Carrie Underwood pick for the finalists?

American Idol Top 2 Live Performance Ratings:

Scotty McCreery –

“Gone” by Montgomery Gentry (Season Favorite Choice) – Eh, I didn’t like this the first time around and it didn’t get any better tonight. Not sure why he picked that as his season favorite, definitely wouldn’t have been my choice. 7/10

“Check Yes or No” by George Strait (Personal Idol Choice) – Scotty stepped it up from his last performance but it wasn’t his best performance of the season at all. 8/10

“I Love You This Big” (Debut Single) – PERFECT song for Scotty’s voice. Great way to end the show. Despite two lackluster performances prior, Scotty definitely ended on a high note. 9/10

Lauren Alaina –

“Flat on the Floor” by Carrie Underwood  (Season Favorite Choice) – Again, I didn’t like this performance the first time around, what is it with these two picking their performances that weren’t the best. Hopefully the next two songs get better. 7/10

“Maybe it was Memphis” – There we go, now I feel like we are in the American Idol finale…Lauren definitely stepped it up with this performance. 9/10

“Like My Mother Does” (Debut Single) – The crowd went absolutely crazy for Lauren’s last performance. It was as good if not better than Scotty’s last song. 9/10

Tune in tonight at 8|7c for our American Idol live coverage and be sure to catch the show on FOX.

UPDATE: (8:04PM EST) Ryan Seacrest just announced that Lauren Alaina WILL be performing in tonight’s finale.

UPDATE: (8:52PM EST) The final three performances for Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery are done and over with. Let’s just say this was a pretty boring finale. I think Lauren will be the winner.
