This is Forever: Duke Nukem Forever now Gold

After years of waiting Gearbox has done the impossible and announcing that Duke Nukem: Forever has gone gold.

When a game goes gold it basically means it’s wrapped up in the box and ready to ship. This is a far cry from the situation that the original Duke Nukem: Forever developer 3d realms found themselves in for the past decade. The 2k games president Christoph Hartman sums it up perfectly by saying “Duke Nukem Forever is the game that was once thought to be unshippable, and yet here we are, on the precipice of history,”

Duke Nukem: Forever will be released to international retailers June 10, 2011 and June 14, 2011 in North America. This means that all those people will be getting down with the “Balls of Steel” action a few days before the United States making everyone(me) here very jealous.

If you wanna get an early taste of the game you can pre-order Duke Nukem: Forever or buy the Borderlands Game of the Year Edition and receive access to the demo. Otherwise you’ll have to wait till the game comes out like the rest of the plebs.

Should be a very interesting release and there should be no shortage of controversy over the more adult themed content in Duke Nukem: Forever. Hopefully Gearbox has done everyone a solid on this game and give something akin to the original legendary game that is Duke Nukem. You can purchase the regular edition or if you like a lot of junk with your games go for the Forever Balls of Steel Edition. The time has almost arrived.
