american idol top 3 liveLive coverage of tonight’s American Idol top 3 along with my own personal performance ratings.

Ready for American Idol live tonight? The final three contestants will head to their hometowns as well as take the Idol stage and perform three songs. The season finale is well within their reach and all three contestants are equally deserving. Who will prove that they have what it takes to be the next American Idol?

I’ll be covering American Idol live tonight for those of you who can’t watch it on television. Haley Reinhart, Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina will sing three sings in which I will list here and I will also give them my own personal performance rating. (1-10) Last week I already mentioned that I am a fan of Haley but have to admit that I will not be unhappy with any of these three becoming the next American Idol. Who are you all rooting for as we go into the final three? Who do you predict as the winner?

American Idol Top 3 Live Performance Ratings:

Scotty McCreery –

“Amazed” by Lonestar – Someone call up Jay-Z because I think Beyonce has a crush on Scotty the Body! Scotty kicked off the show with a pretty damn good performance. The crowd went absolutely ballistic and Steven Tyler and the judges loved it. Personally it started off a little slow to me but he killed the ending. 7/10

“Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not” by Thompson Square – Let’s call this performance Scotty’s panty dropper. No not mine! Scotty reached out to millions of girls tuning in to Idol with this performance and I guarantee you every one of them will be voting for him. I didn’t think it was an awful performance but being such a current song, I like the Thompson Square version better. 8/10

“She Believes in Me” by Kenny Rogers – Scotty just nailed this song and to me this one the best I’ve ever heard him sing. He proved that he can tackle songs outside of his comfort zone. 9/10

Lauren Alaina –

“Wild One” by Faith Hill – Despite looking like Mrs. Claus in whatever the hell she was wearing, Lauren delivered an energetic performance. I look forward to seeing what else she has to offer tonight. 8/10

“If I Die Young” by The Band Perry – Amazing. Lauren was made to sing this song, hands down. I have to give it to Jimmy Iovine for picking a perfect song for her. Couple faults which is why she got an 8 but it was really good. 8/10

“I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Womack – Wow, tonight is definitely tough tonight to pick a winner. Lauren sang her third song and it was brilliant. I give her a 9/10…tomorrow’s voting will be interesting.

Haley Reinhart –

“What Is And What Should Never Be” by Led Zeppelin – Haley rocked the hell out of this song and I enjoyed it. There really wasn’t a lot of growling going on but her voice is so damn sexy! How awesome is it that her dad was there playing guitar!? 9/10

“Rhiannon” by Fleetwood Mac – Haley’s 2nd performance wasn’t as good as her first Led Zeppelin jam session but it was still good. Haley is definitely stepping her game up! 9/10

“You Oughta Know” by Alannis Morrissette – Go Haley Go! This was pure sabotage on behalf of Randy Jackson and Haley delivered a swift “f**k you” to him. I’m pretty sure she was expected to fail at this song and she killed it!

Tune in tonight at 8|7c for our American Idol live coverage and be sure to catch the show on FOX.
